Abstract
[Purpose/significance]With the development of science and technology,disciplines crossing and permeating is increasing.Therefore,it is of great significance for the development of interdisciplinary research and science and technology planning to explore the evolution trend of interdisciplinary research.[Method/process]Based on the output of NSFC papers and the hierarchical classification of NSFC projects from 2008 to 2016,this paper analyzes the interdisciplinary evolution trend of the disciplines of VIP journals by using Brillouin index and three-dimensional indexes of balance,disparity and variety.[Result/conclusion]The research shows that the interdisciplinary of all disciplines is rising steadily in 2008-2016.In addition, the balance of most disciplines is declining,the disparity and variety of most disciplines are on the rise.In addition,the interdisciplinarity of Natural Science is the most prominent,while the interdisciplinarity of Medical Disciplines is relatively low.This provides a new perspective for the traditional interdisciplinary research based on paper citation.
