Abstract
y use of methods of network investigation and comparative analysis, this paper investigates the basic situation of LIS master's specialties and its research directions and curriculum settings by 50 colleges and universities authorized by ALA and 36 Chinese ""985"" and ""211"" colleges and universities, and discusses their similarities and differences among two countries' specialty settings, research directions and curriculum settings. Some suggestions on how to improve the LIS master's specialty and curriculum settings in our country are put forward by reference of American LIS master's specialty and curriculum settings.
